Two ancient quotes that will change the way you see the world

These two ancient quotes say a lot about the current world, even thousands of years later we still don’t see the tricks that are played on us.

Give them bread and circuses and they will never revolt.”

Juvenal (Decimus Junius Juvenalis, Roman poet)

The above quote says a lot, but read the truth from Cicero’s words.

“The evil was not in bread and circuses, per se, but in the willingness of the people to sell their rights as free men for full bellies and the excitement of games which would serve to distract them from the other human hungers which bread and circuses can never appease.”

Marcus Tullius Cicero ( Roman statesman, lawyer, scholar, philosopher and Academic Skeptic)
